Itasca County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (ICHRA) is a political subdivision created by Itasca County under Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.001 through 469.047.
ICHRA has been an independent governmental unit since 1972.
A seven-member board, appointed by the Itasca County Board of Commissioners, forms the governing board of the HRA. Each member is appointed to a five-year term. One member is a "resident commissioner" being a participant in either the HRA's Section 8 program or a public housing tenant.
ICHRA employs five (5) staff persons.
The annual budget of ICHRA approximates $1.7 million dollars.
Each month the ICHRA provides rental subsidy to approximately 350 families.
The HRA provides approximately $1.3 million in annual rental subsidies directly to private landlords in Itasca County.
The asset value of HRA owned public housing properties exceeds $2.3 million.
ICHRA maintains a high performer designation with the U.S. Dept of Housing & Urban Development for both its Housing Choice Voucher Program and its Public Housing Program.
